Obituary for Martin Timmons

Martin H Timmons, 86, of Mercersburg, died November 24, 2017 at his home.
Born May 27, 1931, at Kasiesville, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Gail Smith Timmons.
Martin was a life long farmer. He enjoyed hunting especially bear hunting, restoring farm tractors, camping and butchering. For 29 years, along with his wife Betty, he had a craft stand at Two Top Steam & Gas Engine Show.
Surviving family include his wife, Betty G. Winsor Timmons, whom he married July 1, 1953. A son, Barry L. (Joyce) Timmons of Mercersburg, a daughter, Wanda K. (John) Faith of St. Thomas, three grandchildren, Tammy McEldowney, Barry Timmons, Jr., John “Tony” Faith II, four great grandchildren, Marisa McEldowney, Dustin Walker, Chase McEldowney, and Mercedes Timmons. Two sisters, Miriam (Glenn) Shives, Lemasters, and Martha Clever of Clear Spring, and a brother, Glen Timmons of Mercersburg. Martin was preceded in death by siblings, Kenneth and Paul Timmons and Esther Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday November 30, 2017 at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, with Pastor Paul A. Marin officiating. Burial will be at Welsh Run Brethren Cemetery.
Viewing one hour prior to the service Thursday in the funeral home.
The family requests the omission of flowers. Contributions may be made to SpiriTrust Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
