Obituary for Dorothy Bard

Dorothy Bard
Dorothy (Dot) L. (Bricker) Bard went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10:10 a.m. Born February 21, 1932 in Mercersburg, she was a daughter of the late Ray F and Susan C Bricker.
Dorothy worked at the Christian Light Bookstore in Chambersburg for 18 years. She also volunteered many years of service with the Bible Release Time Program and at the Chambersburg Hospital. She also was the president of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union for several years. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and actively supported them in their sports.
Dorothy was a member of Chambersburg Brethren In Christ Church. She is survived by four children, Gary E Bard (Beverly) of NC, Cindy L. Barges of St. Thomas, Robert A Bard Jr. (April) of St. Thomas, and Nancy L Ramer (Bob) of Chambersburg. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Heather Bard of NC, Gerry Barges (Karen) of St Thomas, Regina Spagnardi (Michael) of NC, Anthony Bard (Nicole) of Chambersburg, Brandon Bard (Brittany) Lemasters, Shawn Ramer (Jade) of Quincy and Christopher Ramer of Chambersburg. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Leighton, Atticus and Harper Bard of Chambersburg and Bristol Bard of Lemasters. She is also survived by a sister in law, Dolly Bricker of Greencastle; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; a sister; grandson; and a son in law.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2017, with a viewing prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. at the Chambersburg Brethren in Christ Church, 465 Center St. Chambersburg. Rev Kevin Witter will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery Mercersburg.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Chambersburg BIC Church and in memo line Dot Bard, 465 Center St, Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
