Obituary for Milton Garnes

Milton Garnes
Milton L. Garnes, 86, of Mercersburg, died April 6, 2017 at The Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville.
Born October 26, 1930 at Chambersburg he was a son of the late Charles M. and Ethel Neikirk Garnes.
Milton was a 1948 graduate of Lemasters High School. He was employed for over 30 years by Waynesboro Construction Company.
He was a member of Kasiesville Bible Church where he had served on the church board. He had served for 30 years on Peters Township Sewer Authority and was a former member of Edward Parnell Ruritan Club.
Milton made wood carvings of wildlife, and did wood burning, and enjoyed pen and ink sketching and oil painting.
Surviving family include his wife, Myrna Filer Garnes, whom he married March 24, 1950. A daughter, Lorri L. (Dan) Maynard of Sautee-Nacoochee, GA, a son, Edward M. (Denise) Garnes of Mercersburg. Three grandchildren, Andrew (Rebekah) Garnes, Chad (Maria) Garnes, and Zachary (Rayanne) Garnes, and five great grandchildren, Madisen, Ally, Andres, Paige, and Emma.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM April 11, 2017 at Kasiesville Bible Church, 12639 Ft. Loudon Road, Mercersburg, with Pastors Gregory Kell and James Dodge officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
Viewing 6 to 8 PM Monday at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
